Ms. Jackson is a New York City / NJ Metropolitan area based vocal stylist and rekindles thoughts of America's great jazz history, she proudly carries the jazz legacy banner and is a vocal stylist performer that nurtured and honed her skills in her hometown the Great City, Newark, NJ. Carrie studied piano and voice with Howard "Duke" Anderson, teacher, composer and arranger. She is a protégé of Duke's artistry and learned the music business from him. Under "Duke's tutelage” she became an accomplished seasoned singer as well as band leader, Carrie elicits emotion and passion suggests she cares about singing and is not simply going through the motions making her a true ambassador of Jazz!

Carrie and her musicians combine jazz originals, standards, pop/blues tunes, in an open improvisation and adventurous, genre-bending style and sound that's inspirational; she is a singer with a soulful sound. Carrie with her Jazzin' All Star Ensemble swing and perform the music of the great composers, Edward "Duke" Ellington, George & Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Lerner & Loewe, Count Basie, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk, Fat’s Waller, and musical selections from the Great American Song Book. Carrie has been hailed a "Diva" for her featured artist performance concert in "Women in Jazz" Newark Jazz Festival, Newark, NJ. She was a principal performer in "Ain't Misbehavin’ Thomas "Fats "Waller's musical at the Villagers Theater, New Brunswick, NJ. This show was a huge success and had a 6-week run. NUNSENSE, Musical Show, She was a principal artist in "49th Street Jazz" a musical review and tribute to Eubie Blake, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Alberta Hunter, which featured selections from Eubie, Sophisticated Ladies, Black & Blue, Porgy & Bess, Spectrum (Play) The Life of Christ, lead role, Elizabeth, Director/Writer: Henry Bobbitt, Montclair, NJ. She has been a guest vocalist for a variety of occasions including live radio and television as an artist with her own ensemble.

Carrie’s travels have taken her to Europe, and touring in the USA, she has performed with a variety of groups such as the “Duke” Anderson Orchestra, Stanley Jordan Trio, Ravi Rothbart, Lafayette Harris, Danny Mixon, Winard Harper, Houston Person, Norman Simmons Band, Earl May, Lisle Atkinson, Radam Schwartz, Takashi Otsuka, Dave Braham, Michael Cochrane, Lee Smith, Dr. Yusef Ali, Sweet sue Terry, James Dean Big Band, Jazz Lobsters Big Band just to name a few.
